Hussar was established as a Closed Corporation in 2008 with the specific view of developing armoured personnel carrier services to clients with extraordinary high-risk profiles. In 2014 Hussar expanded this portfolio to include unmanned aircraft services. With legislation being introduced on unmanned systems in 2015, Hussar became heavily invested in the processes of government/industry interaction. Due to the prohibitive nature of unmanned aircraft systems legislation at the time, Hussar developed alternative strategies and embarked on a consultative mission dealing with clients who required airborne surveillance. In 2018 Hussar teamed up with DC Geomatics Drone Services to deliver legal and professional unmanned aircraft solutions to clients.

Numerous projects delivered since 2014 gave Hussar an edge in understanding the unmanned system environment. This coupled with participation in international conferences in consultative roles as well as in research and attendance of international unmanned systems exhibitions, gave Hussar an intimate understanding of the developments and the various application possibilities that are associated with this technology.
